This is an outstanding set of lightly service used “Germania” Rottenführer collar tabs, featuring identical buckram backing, badgecloth material, and treatment of the edging. In other words, they are a matched pair from day one. The runic tab is a finely hand embroidered “SS” with the numeral “2”, standing for SS-VT Standarte 2, which was formed in Hamburg. Germania went on to form the core regiments of the 5th SS-Panzer Division “Wiking,” whose exploits were widely noted in the heavy fighting on the Russian Front. The matching rank tab features the two litzen for Rottenführer, showing some oxidation from use. An outstanding piece of SS-VT history. COA accompanies.
