The consignor, a friend of mine, sent this helmet for listing on the site. The piece is a beautiful ckl66 M42 Heer helmet in excellent condition with classic Normandy style camouflage scheme. The GI who souvenired this piece, presumably “Ross Wilkins” (approximately what the name inside reads) decided to have it decorated as a gift by a unit artist. The artwork shows the same age patina as the rest of the helmet, and must have been considered a great gift idea at the time. All in all an original artifact of the era. COA accompanies.
