Heavy Combat Waffen-SS M35 Double Decal
$6,500.00
This is a very heavily service used combat Waffen-SS M35 helmet, ET64, #3103. The liner is size marked 57 in the old font, and bears at least one owner’s inscription. The first is “R.S. 1940” and the other is “Dierck” crossed out and “Bobby” written below it. These are period markings and presumably “Bobby” was the owner who brought it back. The helmet shows at least two coats of period repaint, and several sets of decals, including what appears to be a heer national shield underneath the outermost SS rune, signifying multiple uses of the helmet. The images show the unmistakable characteristics of original decal application and wear / crazing from heat and elements. The party shield was evidently covered with thin paint, which eventually dissolved, accentuating the crazing. The liner survived in very good condition; the chinstrap is missing. A great, salty combat SS M35 for the collection. COA accompanies.
