Ron was well known as a collector and dealer in Imperial and Third Reich memorabilia for the last 5 decades. Ron was also a bona fide hero in the US Navy during Vietnam War, a little known fact to many in the community. Ron’s items to be featured include exquisite and rare uniforms, medals, helmets, edged weapons, bronzes and more– simply a large selection of war artifacts for all. - [Knowledge-based Collecting](https://ss-steel-inc.com/uncategorized/): Dear Friends, I’ve added an SS decal reference document, and some video links on the Authentications page. Have a look! I welcome your suggestions for future video topics. I have gone to at least 20 of them and this one had the best activity level I’ve seen. There were not only the dealers and collectors interacting busily, but also the public crowds were bigger than usual, and the walk-ins of helmets were outstanding! Ty got a great combat helmet with a great history, Robert got a mint blackie, and so did I! There were enough artifacts to go around for sure. Also, there were a great group of veterans, and Erik and Cheryl did a fine job as usual […] - [2020 New Year's update happening now!](https://ss-steel-inc.com/news/): Dear friends, January has passed quickly and my early February update is happening now. COA accompanied. - [M35 Heer 'Starter' Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/m35-heer-starter-helmet/): A friend sent me this helmet recently. It's a very nice M35 double D Army, but unfortunately, someone thought it would be a good idea to expose the decals with a buffing wheel. As a result, the helmet is now a 'starter' helmet or a good cover display piece. It is priced reasonably enough. And with all the parts intact, it's a great assemblage of 1937- Dated parts in great condition. COA accompanies. - [German WWI M16 Camouflage Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/german-wwi-m16-camouflage-helmet/): This is a very fine example of a World War I camouflage helmet, featuring an NJ62 shell, with full liner and chin strap assembly -- with the chin strap end missing at one end. King, service company, 508th PIR. The jacket is a large size standard Ike, with a fine original-sewn 82nd Abn Div patch on the left sleeve, jump wings, CIB--and along with Orbie's campaign stars, an arrowhead, signifying probably a combat jump. On the lower left sleeve are his combat bars and one stripe for 2 years' service. His last initial and last 4 of his service number are stamped inside the back of the jacket. Overall a very sharp and historic artifact of one of the brave 508th troopers. COA accompanies. COA accompanies. - [Sharp Camouflage M35/40 Luftwaffe Combat Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/sharp-camouflage-m35-40-luftwaffe-combat-helmet/): This is a fine SE66 (# batch number not visible) Luftwaffe M35 camouflage helmet, displaying a thick, multi-color, hand-applied camouflage, atop the helmet's reissue finish. The color scheme resembles clay, and blends extremely well with colors in a rocky area. The Luftwaffe decal is only slightly visible via some cracking along the wing, changing the texture of the camo paint slightly, which tells the viewer it is under a thick layer-- but still there. The size 58 marked liner is in excellent condition, as is the chin strap, which is also well marked and dated 1940. That's the vintage of the re finish and reinstallation of the 1940 style liner during the reissue process. A real beautiful top shelf camo helmet, from one of the most discriminating collections, coa accompanies. ( Apologies -- will have a full liner shot and other liner photos first thing tomorrow. The rear skirt bears the maker and heat lot stampings, with a partially legible owner's name inked in the same area. The liner and strap are fully intact, marked and complete, but show the signs of long-term storage. The one anomaly is the missing slot washer at the right front rivet. There is no sign of anything touched, but the washer is absent. View the pictures, it is as untouched as they get--especially with the other two rivets being perfect. Based on the in-hands view, if something was corrected, it was most surely done in the period. COA accompanies. - [Rare Waffen-SS Tropical Schiffchen](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/rare-waffen-ss-tropical-schiffchen/): This is a beautiful cap, lightly worn condition, with correct, rich golden tan color and light brown cotton/linen lining. The skull is the typical tropical color bevo cap skull, hand sewn on the front flap. There is no sign of an eagle having been present. There is a small ink size marking "58" in the upper interior. Free of any damage, a fine piece for the tropical SS ensemble. COA accompanies. - [Stunning Luftwaffe M35 Camouflage Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/stunning-luftwaffe-m35-camouflage-helmet/): This helmet, from the prestigious Randy Greer camo collection, consists of an M35 Luftwaffe helmet by Quist, size 66, #937. Per the 1940 specifications, the helmet had a reissue M40 type liner installed and was refinished in the reissue schiefergrau. The luftwaffe adler remains visible on the left side. Over the reissue finish is a vivid camo finish of yellow, green and red-brown-- the design influenced in a wavy pattern due to having had a band of 'sinewave' shaped bailing wire around the sides. The liner is complete and shows medium service wear. The long end of the LW brown chinstrap is partially missing, but everything else is untouched original condition. The name Hoff appears in the rear skirt. All in all a superb, top quality camo example, that would be hard to match. COA accompanies. - [Rare Early SS-VT Bullion Eagle](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/rare-early-ss-vt-bullion-eagle/): This is an exquisitely rendered early bullion SS sleeve Eagle, for wear by LAH and VT officers. Only one example has been featured in books and that was by A. Hayes' publication some time past. An outstanding item for the cloth collection, COA accompanies. - [SS-VT M34 Schiffchen Cap](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/ss-vt-m34-schiffchen-cap/): Fine service worn feld-grau SS-VT M34 Overseas cap.  These hats are seldom found and this example probably dates to around 1939.  These are made of a green-gray wool with brown cotton lining and the black machine embroidered eagle. Cap shows evidence trace of period removed soutache.   The skull button is marked ss rzm 63.  Don’t miss this rare example. COA accompanied.  - [Late WW2 Camouflage Helmet, M-18 !](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/late-war-camouflage-helmet-m-18/): Not commonly seen is this great example of the late World War II use of leftover stocks of WWI transitional helmets, that had initially been refurbished around 1940 and given double decals at that time-- as well as the m40 style liner. (That's a different topic for a different time); but that is not the ultimate fate of this helmet. It was pulled out of stocks and given a new role as a camouflage combat helmet late in the war. The camouflage finish is three color, spray- applied, and fairly intact throughout with the exception of a patina area at the top of the helmet. This is shown in the pictures. The helmet is a BF 64 shell, produced during World War I by Germany. The liner is a M40 style as mentioned, and shows some dryness / shrinkage, but is fully intact and nice. The chin strap, which is also original to the refurb, is in great shape as well. A chance to own an unusual and very sharp looking example of this type camo helmet. COA accompanies. - [Old Fighters' Chevron, Mint in the Packet.](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/old-fighters-chevron-mint-in-the-packet/): This is a mint, unisued, in the packet, ehrenwinkel for the old campaigners, most of whom were veterans of the 'beer hall putsch' era, and therefore entitled to wear this on their right sleeve in service of the SS. A fine item for the insignia collection. - [SS-Totenkopf Untersturmführer Combat Tunic](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/ss-totenkopf-untersturmfuhrer-tunic/): This is a beautiful original example of an early war SS-Ustuf of 1st TV Regiment ,,Oberbayern" tunic. The jacket itself consists of an uber rare 1935 dated Heer cut tunic, showing its characteristic lining style, with the addition of french cuffs and a droop tail collar, commonly seen worn by officers for field operations. The collar tabs are an exquisite matching pair, the skull being the early enlisted pattern totenkopf, piped for an officer upgrade. There are various photos of TK officers wearing their enlisted insignia for field ops. The boards are untouched sew-ins, with rayon cord white piping that has turned an ivory tone with age. The ciphers are "1" for the famous Standarte ,,Oberbayern.'' The sleeve eagle is machine applied, and the pattern is an SS-VT later design, just prior to the common RZM pattern coming out. The buttonhole has an EK2 ribbon affixed. There are a few moth hits, mostly in the back, otherwise the tunic is in solid, service worn condition. This piece comes from an advanced collection and all history of the piece available will be provided to the new owner. COA accompanies.     - [Kriegsmarine Single Decal M42 Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/kriegsmarine-single-decal-m42-helmet/): For your consideration is this fine woodwork Kriegsmarine M42 helmet by EF size 64, batch number 1989. Helmet features a near perfect Adler Navy decal by Huber Jordan Koerner, with exterior retaining most of its original field grey finish. This woodwork combat worn helmet features an apple green finish with both deals retaining most of finish. Helmet is equipped with its original untouched liner with nice pliable leather and chinstrap. (Of note, this helmet appears to have had a cover on it, with clips that abraded the lower edge of each side). Nice service worn example with plenty of appeal for consideration. COA accompanies. - [Bronze Desktop NSDAP Eagle](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/bronze-desktop-nsdap-eagle/): A fine NSDAP desktop Eagle, consisting of a bronze spread-wing Eagle, mounted atop a base of light rose-brown colored marble... a beautiful piece. COA accompanies. - [Minty ET66 Luftwaffe M42](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/minty-et66-luftwaffe-m42/): This is a nearly perfect (ET66 #1537) helmet, mint condition when the war ended, and only the light patina of age showing throughout. The paint is mint with storage scuffs, the adler is 99% and bright. The liner shows only some light storage age, and the interior has some areas of attic patina. Chinstrap is missing--may not have been an issue helmet-- or someone removed it over time. Overall a top shelf piece. COA accompanies.   - [Sicherheitsdienst SD Collar Tab](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/sicherheitsdienst-sd-collar-tab/): This is a fine example of an early Sicherheitsdienst/ SD collar tab for other ranks,  piped in the candy stripe piping of the TV / VT period. An outstanding tab for the collection. Great condition, COA accompanies. - [Waffen-SS Rank Tab](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/waffen-ss-rank-tab/): This is an earlier war quality plain rank tab for Waffen-SS. The tab would match nicely with an RZM SS or TK tab with similar felt-wool quality. Small amount of month tracking on the top corner, otherwise, really nice overall. - [Hermann Göring Division NCO Shoulderboards](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/hermann-goring-division-nco-shoulderboards/): This is a fine pair of HG division infantry piped black shoulderboards. The boards come from an advanced decades old collection, and would go nicely with an HG Wrap ensemble. COA accompanies. - [Waffen-SS Infantry Officer's Shoulder Boards](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/waffen-ss-infantry-officers-shoulder-boards/) - [Outstanding Waffen-SS General's Visor Cap, Possibly Attributed](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/outstanding-waffen-ss-generals-visor-cap-attributed-coming-soon/): For sale is this beautiful artifact, possibly but not certainly, the property of RK w/ Oakleaves and Swords Träger, Sylvester Stadler. The cap itself has been closely inspected by the best experts, and it is original period - used, with  original insignia, consisting of a cupal set of  Wagner eagle and Deschler skull. The the cap has been handed down through a lineage of top collectors in Europe and the United States, and has been featured in Jan Meland and Trond Elvans' famous book, "Heer and SS Visor Caps and Uniforms," which is truly an excellent work, highlighting the best characteristics of these types of caps. This cap is exquisite. Made by Erel - "Extra" it shows authentic, moderate service use throughout. The insignia match in condition and the Totenschaedel covers the famous Erel vent hole in the front. The cap shows fine workmanship, "doeskin" construction and the initials "S.S."-- possibly for Sylvester Stadler. The collector / owner and others who have handled this cap believe it could have been Stadler's for the main reason that there is only one SS general in the 9 November 1944  Dienstaltersliste with the initials "SS". There is no other SS general with a surname beginning with an S and a first name beginning with an S - Except Sylvester Stadler. This list covers SS-Standartenführer through SS Oberst-Gruppenführer. The actual initials 'SS' stuck in the leather sweatband have been in the cap since it was first advertised for sale in 2009. Without a 'smoking gun' photograph of Stadler wearing this cap -- or other hard evidence-- the cap can only be priced as a premier example of a service-used SS general's cap. This is an especially nice example, with no flaws. By itself a truly exquisite hat, a once in a lifetime collector item, COA accompanies. - [Excellent Luftwaffe M35 Double Decal Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/excellent-luftwaffe-m35-double-decal-helmet/): This is a fine example of the iconic LW M35 by Quist, #2708. The helmet features ~92% Luft Blue-grey finish, and nearly 100% Luft adler and national shield. The liner is light golden and shows moderate service use (string is replaced). The correct issue strap is the kidney-bean brown, proper Luftwaffe strap, LBA and maker marked Paul ---- Wien; but date faded (likely 1938-9). Top shelf Luftwaffe M35 for the collection. COA accompanies. - [Waffen-SS Visor Cap Attributed to Sicherheitsdienst NCO](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/historic-visor-cap-attributed-to-sicherheitsdienst-nco/): This is a very cool and historic SS NCO visor from a collector in the Nordics who obtained this cap in a split up of a few items from a locally famous SD official who served in a small Norwegian town. His name was Willi Rutten (pictured in uniform and after capture), and evidently at the end of the war he was not convicted of war crimes and was essentially let go. His cap (ostensibly the one in the wartime picture) has survived in less than optimal shape over the years, but still has a lot potential to be re-shaped and re-badged. The base material is a fine gabardine upper and badgecloth band, with wool piping. Aside from the flattening and a portion of the ersatz sweatband missing, there is no material damage. The cap could be conserved; re-shaped and the visor re-attached, which will improve it and give it more longevity. Insignia are available and it is possible to discern the type Rutten had on his cap in the photo (Zimmermann?). Given the history of the piece and association to the owner, it is reasonably valued and comes with full COA. - [Falaise-Recovered M40 Q SS With Camo Cover](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/falaise-recovered-m40-q-ss-with-camo-cover/): This is a relic Quist SS helmet and cover, reportedly found in a barn in Falaise, Normandy. This helmet has been curated for years by a noted European author and collector, who is now making it available. (it will ship from the E.U.) The helmet shows much patina and wear, but retains its liner and old-style M31 strap, a majority of the finish, and about 20% of the SS runic shield (presumably Quist pattern, as there are no additional paint finishes besides the factory schiefergrau. The helmet cover presents very well and retains all its clips. the camo pattern is discernable (plain tree?), and despite some tatters and a mouse chew or two, is no doubt the companion to this helmet since the day the SS soldier gave it up. An outstanding artifact, fine for the Normandy Battle display or a Museum. COA accompanies. Ships from EU. - [Heer Officer's Dress Dagger](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/heer-officers-dress-dagger/): Here is a very straight down the road example of the famous wehrmacht- heer officer's dagger by Heller Brothers., complete with portapee and hangers. The portapee does not appear to have been undone since wartime and still retains a very good, sturdy appearance. The entire dagger shows only light use and has not been abused or allowed to be pitted or otherwise damaged. Overall, a great display example ready for the mannequin. COA accompanies. - [T.L. Heer M40 Single Decal Normandy Ex Net Camo Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/heer-m40-single-decal-normandy-ex-net-camo-helmet/): Heer M40 single decal Normandy Camo helmet by EF size 64, batch number 22418. Helmet features a desirable Normandy type camo finish that shows shadowing of net used to enhance the camouflage use in the field (along with using brush/branches etc). The helmet retains original untouched liner and leather chinstrap. Exotic camo helmet for your consideration. COA accompanies. - [German WWII Heer/ SS Dress Bayonet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/german-wwii-heer-ss-dress-bayonet/): Excellent dress bayonet by Emil Vos. The finish is bright and unblemished at the blade, the handle and scabbard are excellent. The frog shows some stiffness from period polishing. Great for the display. - [Sharp SS Medical Officer's Field Tunic](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/sharp-ss-medical-officers-field-tunic/): This is a field service used SS medical officers field tunic, showing the base tunic being the typical SS- procured Heer M36, with bottle- green collar. The tunic is badged for an SS-Obersturmführer. The badging consists of the following: pair of SS RZM style runic and rank tabs, showing period machine application. The runes show normal wear with a slight touch of patina. At some point a pip on the rank tab was replaced. The shoulderboards are sewn-in medical piped in the cornflower-blue color of SS medic, with one cipher and rank pip  showing slightly less wear than the other, which may signify something worn over the left shoulder-- or storage against something that caused finish wear. The sleeve eagle, a replacement, is an exquisite example and perfect condition match. Showing authentic service wear, this tunic would be an excellent addition to the SS cloth collection. COA accompanies.   - [Stunning Waffen-SS Officer's Crusher Cap](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/coming-soon-stunning-waffen-ss-officers-crusher-cap/): This is an early war, superb quality SS Officer's crusher cap, featuring high quality wool body, fine lindesamt velvet band, gently age-crazed leather bill, and untouched cupal Overhoff skull and eagle. The interior is the light grey cotton / satin blend, with a leatherette band and near fully intact sweat-shield. The plesier and tacking are finely rendered, reflecting the quality of this cap maker (looking like a Clemens Wagner or similar). The cap shows service wear, weather exposure--creating a striking, original look and feel. A true addition to the SS headgear or cloth collection. COA accompanies. - [Mint WWII German Tropical Breadbag](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/mint-wwii-german-tropical-breadbag/) - [Heer Service Belt, Earlier Production](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/heer-service-belt-earlier-production/): This is a good Heer Service belt, showing moderate use and wear, retaining most of the green paint finish on the buckle. Leather is in excellent condition. Buckle tab is dated and marked-- a fine piece for the collection. - [Minty 6 Foot NSDAP Vehicle ID Flag](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/minty-6-foot-nsdap-vehicle-id-flag/): From a recent collection buy, this is an outstanding example of a Nazi military vehicle identification flag. These are often seen during the Polish Campaign and the Westfeldzug, wherein the forces were advancing so quickly, there was a danger of being interdicted by friendly close air support (Ju-87s, etc). Interesting and historically significant. COA accompanies. - [German WWII Tropical Tan Camouflage Binoculars, Vet Bringback](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/german-wwii-tropical-tan-camouflage-binoculars-vet-bringback/): These binoculars are in great condition, with much of the tan camouflage paint intact and showing normal service use / wear. They are marked "Dienstglas 6x30" and maker code "cag." The Optics are clear, and the case is in good enough condition to almost be able to use (not advised :-) The Vet's name and address are written inside, and make this artifact a wonderful addition to the tropical Wehrmacht display. COA accompanies. - [Waffen-SS M35 ET66 Camouflage Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/waffen-ss-m35-et66-camouflage-helmet/): This fine Camo SS specimen is an ET66 M35, Heat lot number #4631 compatible with SS in the Ice reference. The helmet started out as a factory finish Double decal M35 with golden tan liner. And in this case, the soldier affixed an M31 style carbine clip Chin strap, which has been on the helmet forever, and has some camo overspray visible in the pictures. The special snap attachment of this strap also has worn a corresponding area in the inner flap of the helmet, which is also visible in the pictures. The camouflage scheme is on top of a rough texture reissue scheme, which when applied would have necessitated removal of the party shield, and that is evident under the camo paint that the party shield had been removed. The SS Runic shield is apparently intact under these finishes. The outermost finish in my view is a classic Normandy camo, whereby the SS used a lot of red and green in their camo schemes. A one-look, beauty that would grace any camo collection. COA accompanies. - [Winter / Wire Camo Battlefield M35](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/winter-wire-camo-battlefield-m35/): This helmet is almost like a time capsule of a collector-untouched wire winter camo M35 Heer helmet, that was battlefield acquired in the 1980s in the operation 'Nordwind' region (Alsace / Rheinland Pfalz). A fine camo for the battlefield collector. COA accompanies. - [Japanese Type 90 Helmet, Combat Souvenir](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/japanese-type-90-helmet-combat-souvenir/): This is a great combat example of a Japanese type 90 combat helmet, complete with the correct brown finish and original star. The helmet is marked size large "oki" inside and shows signs of possible cutoff removal from the wearer's head. A great combat souvenir of the Pacific war. COA accompanies. - [Early War Combat Camo Waffen-SS M35 Double Decal](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/early-war-combat-camo-waffen-ss-m35-double-decal/): This heavily worn Waffen-SS double decal helmet is an ET64 #4392, putting it in the 1939 production range. The helmet shows heavy service use overall, including a heavily worn liner fully intact. With chin strap fully intact same condition, the helmet was issued in pea green from the ET factory and badged with a set of ET pattern Runic and party Shields. Over this was painted the slate gray vehicle paint for camouflage purposes. This phenomenon took place widely during the French campaign. A super correct example, named, ready for the SS combat collection. COA accompanies. - [Large Luftwaffe M35 Helmet by Quist](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/large-luftwaffe-m35-helmet-by-quist/): This is an outstanding M35 Luftwaffe Helmet, Q66, heat lot number #4583. The helmet features a blond liner, used LBA marked chinstrap. It presents a nice finish and strong decals, overpainted with a frosty matte-grey-- likely as a means to subdue the shiny finish. A Very handsome helmet, great for the display. COA accompanies. - [Luftwaffe M40 Camouflage Combat Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/luftwaffe-m40-camouflage-combat-helmet/): This is a sharp Luftwaffe M40 helmet, Q64, #DN1(?)05, with brush - applied grass green and dark red camouflage scheme. The helmet is named and has a utility strap for the chinstrap. The liner is light golden brown with untouched pins; named, nicely inscribed "H. Link." From the same multi-decade collection, a great, service used example for the LW combat display. COA accompanies. - [Killer Heer Camo, Later War Scheme](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/killer-heer-camo-later-war-scheme/): This is an exquisite M35 Heer Helmet, SE64, with a striking camouflage scheme that resembles either the Italian pattern camo, or possibly a later war camo scheme. The consignor reports this has appeared in some research documents by collectors and historians. Regardless which scheme, it is a fine example inside and out, with medium service use throughout. The liner, strap and paint are strong, and this would make a very top shelf example for the camo collection. COA accompanies. - [SS M35 Double Decal Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/ss-m35-double-decal-helmet/): This is just a killer, exceptionally rare SS-VT M35 Double Decal Helmet by Quist, size 62, batch number 332. As an early issue helmet to the SS, it shows the factory finish 2 layers underneath and on the inside dome, with the outermost finish, being the special Gray VT color on top of the black layer, that had been used for parade in black uniform, and possibly the 1939 party rally wherein all SS were ordered to show up in black uniform muster. The liner shows wear commensurate to the outside of the helmet, demonstrating a medium to a high […] - [Service Used Waffen-SS Combat Engineer Officer's Schiffchen](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/service-used-waffen-ss-combat-engineer-officers-schiffchen/): This cap is a beautiful, very well-used flatwire insignia example, made of quality whipcord wool and piped in black for Pionier. These were some of the hardest fighters of the battlefield, having to deal with bridging for armor assaults, obstacle construction and clearing for the assault formations, demolitions of major features such as bridges and bunkers--and finally, hard combat in the offense and defense during any operation.  They always were the hardest fighters, both in armored and grenadier operations. Their legacy was many RK holders among their officers and NCOS.  This combat cap would be a centerpiece of the SS-Pionier display. (ships from SS-Steel affiliate in EU). COA accompanies - [Phenomenal Waffen-SS Tunic From Rudolf Fend, LAH](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/phenomenal-waffen-ss-tunic-from-rudolf-fend-lah/): This incredible tunic once belonging to SS-Sturmbannführer Rudolf Fend, was first purchased over 50 years ago by Rick Sheffler, a famous Midwest US Collector. In his quest to find out more about Fend, as well as to learn if he was alive or not, Mr. Sheffler had lengthy correspondence with an SS Officer Walter Krüger (not The Gen. Krueger who committed freitod at war's end), and others to finally make it happen (Copies of all this correspondence are included herein with this grouping). Needless to say, Mr. Sheffler was able to learn from Fend about how he used the tunic, how long he had it, etc., and that Fend was happy for Mr. Sheffler to keep the tunic in his own collection as a remembrance to his service. Since those days, the tunic has made its way into several very notable collections, finally here to SS-Steel to find a new collection to call home. The tunic is a tailored M-36 Rock style, with open collar and rear belt supporting buttons. The fabric is a luxurious high quality worsted, piped in silver edging at the collar. As Fend was an anti-aircraft specialist, the piping is red that frames the fine sewn-in SS-Sturmbannfūhrer shoulderboards. The sleeve eagle is an officer bullion version; the cufftitle is a textbook officer's bullion embroidered LAH in sutterlin script. The collar tabs are hand-applied, with Fend explaining that he used the tunic since he was an Untersturmführer in "Deutschland" regiment-- an incredible history of use-- and had changed the insignia multiple times as he rose in rank. All of this information is contained in the files and letters. There are many photos of Fend with Dietrich, Panzermeyer, and other notable LAH leaders, and at least one picture of him evidently in this tunic, standing by Dietrichm (There is a grouping of medals that were collector added. All but the ribbon bar remain, and are included in this price).  There are precious few original and undisputed, named senior officer tunics in the collecting world, and this will capstone the finest SS regalia collection. This fine piece, purchased from a recent collection buy, features excellent period applied insignia, including a mid war style sleeve eagle, that appears fully original / unaltered. COA Accompanies. - [Allgemeine-SS Parade Helmet](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/allgemeine-ss-droop-bill-parade-helmet/): This is a used but fine condition example of an early SS parade helmet. These helmets were commercially produced and procured, as the SS at that time had no access to the wehrmacht supply system. This particular type is called the "droop bill" by collectors because from the scallop forward, the visor of the helmet angles downward slightly. It has the rivets that indicate that it once had a commercial liner, but that has been period upgraded with a an M31 liner, single ply band, dated 1931. The liner and the liner band both have black paint on the edges, indicating the helmet was repainted black after the upgraded liner was installed. The second layer of black paint shows heavy brush marks and was done hastily but thoroughly. Both decals (Pochers of course) were left exposed, although the paint edged onto the borders of each decal, slightly. Overall, the condition shows substantial service / parade use, but all components are solid and display very well for a 90 year old piece. This is a chance to own one of the iconic early Allgemeine-SS black helmets at a reasonable price. Consigner is very motivated to sell and has just dropped the price to a very reasonable level (it is now half price)! COA accompanies. - [Mint Org.Todt M43 Cap](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/mint-rad-m43-cap/): This is a stone mint cap in the M43 configuration. COA accompanies. - [Heydrich Julfest SS Plaque Presented to His Adjutant](https://ss-steel-inc.com/product/heydrich-julfest-ss-plaque-presented-to-his-adjutant/): This desktop SS presentation ornament came from a small grouping we recently obtained. There unfortunately is no backstory to it, other than it was in the possession of the owner for decades after purchasing it from the original bringback veteran.
