This is a fantastic, named uniform set to Flak Hauptmann Bruno Kaestner, brought back by local Pennsylvania Veteran Alfred D. Eelse — direct from his family several years ago. The set includes tunic (named), trousers (named), overcoat (named) and visor cap– that has his name written on the sweatband. The tunic is very nice and shows period sewn collar tabs and period hand sewn breast eagle. The uniform also shows two sets award loops (badges not included-but can be purchased additionally) and name in tag as shown. The tunic shows moderate service wear with some seperation of both interior sleeve linings inside jacket. Overall a very nice jacket as shown. Both trousers and overcoat have name tags as well, and both are in very nice display condition as well. Also included is a period set of suspenders. The visor shows a very nice exterior, but does show a good amount of service wear, and when was acquired, the cap needed a repair to visor. The Interior sweatband is in very worn condition but does exhibit the hauptmann’s name faintly written, and is made by the high quality firm Erel. The back story was that Alfred took this uniform direct from the officer / POW, but did not harm him. His records end in 1942, possibly around when he was taken as POW. To have a named set is rare, especially when identified and having the veteran who brought it back is a greater bonus. COA accompanies.
