This is a classic, earlier issue canvas type DAK / tropical pith helmet, with Luftwaffe insignia in the form of a gilt-finish LW adler and standard earlier pattern tricolor shield. These are placed through the pre-existing Wehrmacht insignia holes, which is how the user would have had to decorate the helmet, in lieu of specific production of this type of helmet for generals.
