Net Camouflaged KM M42 Helmet
$3,200.00
This helmet has almost too many interesting features to enumerate. It started as a KM M42, was then camo’d in a grass green scheme; then finally given a net with allied style ‘scrim.’ The net itself may be allied in manufacture, but the gauge is thicker and looser twist like the Germans made. My assessment is it is a combination of the two. Forensically the helmet is perfect–nothing glows under UV light, except sweat and organic matter which glows green, and is a telltale sign of antiquity. The liner is untouched and shows moderate use, commensurate with the condition of the paint, the net, etc. One liner retaining pin has a slight wobble to it, the others look fine. There is an unmistakable Kriegsmarine shield on the left, initially covered by the camo paint, then scratched a bit to reveal areas of the decal. The scratching itself is old, not recent. Overall this is a great M42 netted camo, perfect for the KM coastal artillery display. COA accompanies.
