Striking Waffen-SS M38 palm pattern pullover camouflage smock, splendid example vividly printed in the distinctive pattern of green, tan and dark brown/black camouflage colors of the summer side printed on cotton, reversible to the autumn camouflage side of browns and ochers, with elasticized neck and a rectangular shaped fabric reinforcement underneath the front lacing placket, having a vertical wind flap behind the laces on the autumn side, assembled with grey colored with light grey colored construction threads and with buttonholes using the same thread, elastic at neck, waist and wrists is very strong, black elastic is visible through two small openings on the autumn side of each wrists, with an original drawstring (this did not come with the smock), sleeve ends with selvedge edge, lower skirt is hemmed and has a reinforcing strip of matching camouflage fabric sewn to the outer summer edge, there are two flaps at the middle front chest allowing access to garments worn underneath, smock is in almost unused condition, there is minor patina to the high spots, a small vertical tear ( 2cm +/- ) at the right upper pass through flap (see photo) and a few small lightish stains to the front lower skirt, excellent example.
