Well-provenanced SS Cut-off Grouping, Feldlazarett
$2,950.00
This grouping was discovered in 1993 by a local French collector, who noticed that a farmer who had lived near in a German field hospital during his youth was outdoors, burning items that he had accumulated, and for years had stuffed under his floorboards for insulation. He had burned quite a pile by the time the collector arrived, but there were items left. Among them was this grouping, that was supposedly from one Soldier. The items include a shoulderboard– infantry piped SS-Oberscharführer, a prongless cupal Zimmerman skull plucked from a cap, a cutoff and neatly trimmed bevo sleeve eagle- factory machine sewn to its original cloth. A piece of tress from the collar, a cutoff ss-rzm pattern runic tab, a Russian front medal, and some extra kvk ribbon. Additionally, there is a 5 pfennig coin with the group. A good friend of mine provided me this exact geolocation of the spot where the hospital was, and the translation of the note: “SS lot originating from an infirmary in Lyons-la-Forêt, Rue de la Rouge Mare, in 1993.” I was astounded to find this, and it needs a good home with a cutoff collector. *grouping was obtained from the son of DENIS BARBE, owner of the musée d’Ambleteuse.
