Czech M16 Helmet, 1920s
$1,500.00
The Czechs were famous during the Austro-Hungarian Empire as armaments and equipment manufacturers. This helmet, BGB manufactured “Austrian” shell, is a classic example of the Czech production during the imperial and post-imperial periods. The telltale features are the dark olive tan finish, and the split-cup chinstrap assembly. These helmets, interestingly were purchased by the Reichsheer and the fledgling SS, who re-finished them for their respective purposes. Existing examples of both Heer and SS transitionals feature these domed rivets and unusual chinstraps, with the only modification being the German paint finish and decals added later. A unique original Czech helmet, with a cool history. COA accompanies.
