This is a great, service used M35 Double Decal Police helmet by SE size 66, batch number 4474. The helmet features nearly all of the paint and decals, with just medium wear throughout. The liner is fully intact as is the strap. The helmet shows enough service use to indicate possibly the SS-Polizei-Division, or most likely, police support to einsatzgruppen activities. Helmets like this hold a special closeness to that activity, as revealed through the multitude of records of this activity behind the lines on all fronts, conducted by battalions of Schutzpolizei and Ordnungspolizei shuffled to and from the front from various cities and municipalities within the German Reich. A great, historic piece. COA accompanies.
