Interesting Heer Leather Assault Wrap

This is an interesting and somewhat rare example of a Heer Major’s assault gun jacket, made from a borrowed Kriegsmarine Shipboard leather garment. Quantities of these were issued to heer and SS armored troops, and saw use in battlefronts such as Normandy. The Army officer insignia are hand-applied, and under close examination show no sign of modern stitching, as all the stitch holes are tightly closed and not bearing any roughness around the edges that would be encountrreded in a modern “chop job.” The patina throughout the tunic remains uniform and undisturbed. The tunic comes from a venerated old collection, the collector now deceased. This is a unique, handsome garment that would enhance the heer armored collection. COA accompanies.
