This is an authentic WW2 cast aluminum Deutsche Reichsbahn (railroad) eagle. They were produced from 1937 to 1941 by a variety of manufacturers for use as insignia on locomotives and passenger cars. The size of this example is 63 x 35cm (app. 24 ¾ x 13 ¾ “). The back of the eagle has three approximately 16mm threaded mounting studs, and is stamped with the manufacturer code “RZA 10 BLN” and the alloy metal blend AI-Mg-Si (aluminum-magnesium-silicon), plus the manufacturer’s initial B. These eagles are highly prized historical items and this example is a fine, textbook display piece. COA accompanies.
