This desktop SS presentation ornament came from a small grouping we recently obtained. There unfortunately is no backstory to it, other than it was in the possession of the owner for decades after purchasing it from the original bringback veteran. In 1936, the date of the presentation, the individual who served as adjutant to Reinhard Heydrich was Walter Rauff. Rauff was a key subordinate to rein hard. Heydrich throughout his tenure as head of the SD, and Reichsprotector of Bohemian-Moravia. Rauff went on to become one of the most effective and thereby notorious SS leaders in the northern Italy and Balkans area antipartisan operations. (The placque says “to my loyal adjutant at Christmas 1936”). A nice looking and historic piece. COA accompanies.
