Fine Quality Luftwaffe General’s Visor by ErEl

This is a fine example of a high quality, Erel manufacture Luftwaffe general officer’s visor cap. The cap features the blue Gray wool body with the fine velvet cap band, all edged in gold piping. The insignia are bullion, rather than the later-war celluloid thread. All aspects of the cap are indicative of very light service wear, but over the 80+ years, the piping has tarnished where the areas were exposed– including the chin cord, which also has tarnish on the exposed areas. The visor features the typical age crazing that occurs on items of this type, and the wool body has cloth patina and a small Moth trace or two. The interior is still showing excellent condition, featuring the lime green satin of general officer’s models by Erel. The full celluloid sweat shield features the Erel logo, and the side of the sweat band has the mostly legible “Erel Patent Stirnschutz” logo embossed. Overall a very fine addition to the LW general’s collection. COA accompanies.
