This Kleiderkasse example–again from the premier collection– is superbly crafted from gabardine wool, with a velvet cap band and white piping. The aluminum Deschler insignia are mint and never touched. The interior shows the craftsmanship of the 1942-43 period, with mouse grey imitation silk lining, simply ink stamped “56.” Caps this nice are not often encountered, a must for the best SS cloth collection.
