RESERVED (p.a.) Stunning Waffen-SS Totenkopf Officer Panzer Wrapper
The stuff that collector dreams are made of…this incredible wrapper is a formal tailored piece, coming from one of the premier European collections, noted for ultra rare and authentic pieces. The garment is custom made of a top-quality Tricot wool, badged with fine quality bullion Skull and Rank tabs, and sewn-in SS Pz Untersturmführer boards with pink piping and gilt number “3” ciphers for 3/SS Panzer Division ,,Totenkopf”. The entire piece at first glance has that noticeable, gentle age patina, uniformly across all components. There is also evidence of moderate service use to this piece, giving gentle but detectable wear to the insignia–all of which bear their original, perfectly intact and correct application stitching–and positioning, visible in the detailed pictures. The interior bears the tailor’s label of the Ley firm of Kassel –Kassel was a major producer of tanks and armored vehicles, and many officer pieces bear labels from local shops there. The interior is black silk, with the soft ticking material for sleeve linings. All stitching is unmolested and intact. The tunic bears loops for an EKI and presumably a Panzer assault badge, as well as an EKII ribbon sewn into the button-hole on the flap.
