This is a Romanian helmet, showing a lateral shot straight through, that was a relic find in Russia, reportedly in the area of Volgograd (Stalingrad) a number of years ago. Romanian forces took heavy casualties during 1942/1943, especially being the first blocking force the Soviets punched through in their encirclement of the beleaguered Sixth Army of FM v. Paulus. The helmet looks to have taken two strikes, including through the front emblem. The overall condition is nice, with the helmet still retaining its dome stamp. Striking example of a combat worn helmet, not often encountered. COA accompanies.
