This is a beautiful example of an item that is becoming increasingly difficult to find–the iconic M40 Waffen-SS Helmet. This example is ET-produced in size 64, with heat lot number 796. The M40 style finish shows moderate service wear, as does the ET pattern SS runic shield. The interior shows an area in the rear that is evidently a name removal, leaving patch of metal patina, visible below the rear of the liner band. The liner itself is in fine blond-ish condition, untouched and with a name or inscription partially visible. The strap is a typical rb numbered matching example. Overall this is a handsome example of a desirable Waffen-SS helmet. COA accompanies.
