Incredible SS Honor Ring–Fritz Freitag!

This ring, one of the most striking and mintest High-Ranking examples I have handled, is the SS Honor Ring awarded to SS-Brigadeführer Fritz Freitag on 21 June 1940 (see the wiki link below for his bio data). By war’s end, Freitag a Ritterkreuzträger, had commanded three SS divisions and a cavalry brigade, with previous combat support to Einsatzgruppen activities behind the lines during the initial stages of the Russia campaign. (SS-Steel has previously handled the hand crafted leather bound photo album Freitag presented to Himmler on the occasion of the induction and standing-up of the 14th SS Waffen-Grenadier Division “Galizien 1” (Ukranian), which became a premier combat formation of the Waffen-SS on the eastern front).
