Spectacular and probably one of the best battle damaged Japanese Naval Landing Forces (Marines) helmet. Helmet has an excellent tan camo finish with what appears to be most likely an oblique bullet strike, possibly of a .30 caliber round, entering and exiting the helmet with a tear to the metal, likely resulting in the death of the wearer. In conjunction are darkened areas of the leather liner pads. The Chinstraps appear to be roughly cut, indicating forcible removal of the helmet from its former owner. This outstanding piece is out of a decades old collection, and on the market for first time. COA accompanies.
