(J.S.) Killer Totenkopf Officer’s Service Tunic
This is an outstanding, service-worn tunic, fully badged original and in untouched condition. This excellent artifact has recently come from Europe. The tunic consists of a tailored 4 pocket, 6 button front, with French cuffs. The tailor is the famous Christian Schwartz in Munich. The tailor’s label bears the full name uncut, but it is faded and difficult to read. Images are provided herein. The tabs are machine applied and consists of an SS-Obersturmführer rank tab and a matching beautiful vertical skull of the early bullion type– a very handsome pair of insignia for the collar. The sleeve eagle is bullion and shows commensurate wear to all the other badging. The right sleeve bears the “old fighter” Chevron, a very nice example. There are remnants of machine stitching where a cuff title once was, but apparently had been removed during service time, because the outline has faded nearly to the overall fade of the tunic. Overall, this tunic shows medium external patina and wear, plus substantial sweat internally. There are one or two moth nips, plus a few minor breakages in seams; hallmarks of authenticity.
