This is a well used S.A. dagger (Pack EP&S) marked to the individual, who reportedly kept it long after the war. The dagger shows a lot of service use and importantly, signs of where the Ernst Roehm inscription was ground off. When the SA Chief Ernst, Roehm gained greatly in political power, and became a direct threat to the rule of Hitler, Hitler had him assassinated in the famous “Night of the Long Knives.” These daggers are rare and historically important.
