This is a mint unissued example of the famed “Dachau pattern” SS panzer M43 cap. These are characterized by the trapezoidal machine embroidered insignia, two button front, thin black wool body and herringbone rayon or cotton lining. These usually feature the exposed cardboard underneath of the visor…but in this case, it is fully cloth. Manufacturing techniques of these varied, and the quality also varied. This example represents near top quality. Size marked 55. Excellent cap for the collection, COA accompanies.
