This cufftitle is from the 11th SS Volunteer Panzergrenadier Division “Nordland,” which was split out from Wiking division in 1943 to form its own Panzergrenadier division out of mainly Scandanavians. Instead, it consisted only partly of Danes, but mainly of ethnic Germans from Croatia. The division was mainly deployed on the Eastern Front fighting at first partisans, then in major battles with the Soviets. One of the more famous aspects of this division was its remnants fought to the last in the defense of Berlin in 1945. A “been there” piece of Waffen-SS insignia, COA accompanies.
