Interesting Waffen-SS Cap Insignia Cut-Off

This must have been a great looking M43 cap, whereby a Bevo trapezoid insignia was trimmed, then sewn to a piece of feldgrau wool, then applied to the M43 cap itself. Given that the wool of the insignia and the cap match, I surmise this was a tailored piece, possibly officer. Instead of a cap as a souvenir, the taker of the cap decided to cut off the portion of the front with the insignia on it. It was then trimmed to a rectangle for display. Nice SS insignia cutoff!
