This is a fine example of the iconic Cloth billed crusher cap in size 55 1/2. These caps were favored by SS NCOs of the SS-VT, SS-TV and SD during the mid-late 1930s armament period of the SS. There were many types and manufacture nuances, but this example embodies the more commonly noted features of feldgrau wool body, orange chintz type cotton interior, and paper or leatherette sweatband. The cap was likely not worn much, with the condition showing mainly just age wear. The insignia are cupal, with the skull being Deschler made. The cap would fill a prized spot in the early SS collection, COA accompanies.
