This beautiful and incredibly rare example is a CKL size 70 shell, heat lot #2835 or 2855, M42. The helmet features factory applied ET runic and ET party shields. The seller reports having procured this piece from the Marshal’s Baton, over a decade ago. The helmet is virtually untouched, with some light storage scuffs and age toning to the 98% paint and decals. The liner and strap leather have heavy storage patina and some weakness / darkening. The chinstrap tip appears double maker stamped. The dome stamp is crisp and visible. This helmet, without a name or unit designation to identify it, would most likely have been decorated as a double decal for duty within a camp or garrison environment; sometimes in rear-area duty such as SD / Einsatzgruppen. In these environments, M34 and other types of helmets are widely visible with two decals. A prized piece for the top helmet collection, COA accompanies.
